We are pleased to announce our precious lovely manager, Gwyne Diment was nominated for a Guardian Public Service award, 2019

The Cedar Community Club started in December 2018. The Club has received financial support from private donors as well as from various local community groups who fund-raise on behalf of the Club. The Club is a registered charity with the Charity Commission.

The staff between them have over 25 years of experience in running a day centre. There is a manager, a deputy and a team of 8 volunteers who offer their time on a weekly basis. All staff and volunteers have up-to-date enhanced DBS certificates.

We do cater for people with mild to moderate dementia and mental health needs. Each member is assessed on their initial visit to the Club, and it is at the discretion of the manager as to how much support we can give at any given time. The cost of attendance is £20 per day, and this includes lunch, refreshments and activities.

The day-to-day running of the Club is underpinned by an ethos of ‘good practice’, and copies of our statutory polices and risk assessments can be viewed on request to the Manager.

The staff have level 2 food safety certificates. We are running at level 5 as assessed by the Food Standards Agency in January 2019.

We take our health and safety in the workplace very seriously, and both staff and our volunteers have regular training sessions.

With regard to our clients, all new people attending the Club are assessed by our Manager, and a care plan will be discussed and then written up. There will be regular reviews in order to assess changing support needs.

If you would like to make enquiries, please contact our manager Mrs Claire Stroudley Tel: 01865 686472 Email: thecedarcommunityclub@gmail.com

Here’s a poem about the club written by Graham, one of our lovely volunteers.
